Diksha Pilania and Maryam Emadi Shine at Dallas AIA Women in Architecture Event
We are excited to share that on Tuesday, August 27th, two of our talented designers, Diksha Pilania and Maryam Emadi, had the honor of presenting at the Dallas AIA Women in Architecture event, “You’ve Got 5 Minutes – Express Yourself.”
The event, held at the Kirksey Architecture studio in the Dallas Design District, brought together several attendees and eight presenters from across the DFW area.
Diksha and Maryam were selected from a competitive pool of applicants and given five minutes to present on any architecture-related topic. Diksha captivated the audience with her presentation on her master’s thesis and ongoing project, Upaya, which focuses on interior design improvements in underserved communities in India.
Her presentation included a moving video showcasing the impact of her work, culminating in the joyous reactions of a family whose living conditions were significantly enhanced.
Maryam’s presentation, titled Seeds of Change: Growing Climate Awareness Together, addressed the critical need for climate awareness. She introduced her vision of transforming schools into living classrooms where students can learn about environmental stewardship.
Highlighting the importance of preparing future generations for a sustainable future, Maryam made a compelling case for how energy-efficient schools can not only reduce costs but also enhance education and strengthen communities.
