Slidell ISD Elementary School Groundbreaking

On Tuesday May 21, Slidell ISD students, staff, and school board members picked up shovels to celebrate the future home of Slidell Elementary School. The groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of construction for the new campus located just west of the current high school.

Superintendent Taylor Williams, addressing the crowd from a podium set in front of an excavator and a line of shovels, emphasized that the project honors both Slidell's past and future.

"This is more than just a new building; it represents a new chapter," Williams said. "Since 1938, our elementary building has served many generations well. While we will continue to honor our past and keep life in our historic building, we now look forward to a beautiful new facility designed specifically for our youngest Greyhounds and their learning needs."
